What is the difference between NCE and U2000?


U2000 is a network management; it can manage Huawei GPON Network, SDH, OSN 8800 WDM devices. Now Huawei has a new network management system named NCE, what are the differences between it and U2000 system?



NCE supports more features than U2000.

U2000 is a traditional network management system. It provides the FCAPS functions, namely fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security, and supports NE configuration and end-to-end (E2E) service configuration.
NCE integrates the functions of the NMS, SDN controller, and network analysis system. It provides not only traditional FCAPS functions, but also advanced functions such as network visualization, service automation, and intelligent O&M.

The network device management and maintenance functions of the U2000 are mainly migrated to the Network Management app of NCE. The operation interfaces of the Network Management app and U2000 are basically the same, which is user-friendly and shortens the learning curve.

The alarm monitoring and management functions of the U2000 are mainly migrated to the Alarm Monitor app of NCE. NCE supports more diverse management and visualization functions.

What are the functions of each port on the FIU board?

Huawei OSN6800 OSN8800 fiber interface board FIU multiplexes and demultiplexes signals the main optical path and OSC signals. The RC port of the FIU board receives signals from the main optical path and the RM port receives signals from the OSC. 


The two types of signals are then multiplexed into one signal using the multiplexer module and are output from the OUT port. The IN port receives signals from the line and then sends the signals to the demultiplexer module. The demultiplexing module splits the signals into main optical path signals and OSC signals, which are then output through the TC and TM ports respectively.

Do different versions of SL64 have great function difference?

Huawei STM-64 service board SL64 is available in functional versions of N4, N2 and N1, N2 version is discontinued.

Differences
  • N1SL64/N4SL64 supports the board version replacement function, but does not support the TCM function or AU-3 services.
  • N2SL64 does not support the board version replacement function, but supports the TCM function and AU-3 services, the TCM function and AU-3 services cannot be available at the same time.
  • N4SL64 supports pluggable XFP optical modules.
  • N4SL64 detects and reports voltage performance.
  • SL64 boards of different versions support different loopback functions.
Substitution
When TCM function and AU-3 services are not required, N1SL64 can substitute for N2SL64.
When TCM function and AU-3 services are not required, N4SL64 can substitute for N2SL64.
N4SL64 supports the board version replacement function to substitute for the N1SL64.

Please kindly note that when you configure the MSP or SNCP, you cannot configure N1SL64 as the protection board if the working board is N2SL64 on which the TCM function is enabled or AU-3 services are configured. Otherwise, the services are interrupted when a switching operation is performed.

What is the difference between Huawei XGPON and XGSPON board?

GPON, 1.25G upstream, 2.5G downstream

10GPON is evolution of GPON, it has two standards XGPON and XGSPON.
XG-PON, also called 10GPON or asymmetrical 10GPON, different down and up stream.
XGS-PON, symmetrical 10GPON, upstream and downstream rate are the same.

XG-PON down and upstream rate is Asymmetric, XGS-PON is Symmetric. Now there is only XG-PON service board like XGBD XGHD available in the market; XGS-PON boards is not popular used.
